Welcome to the Ecology & Conservation of Marine Mammals Team !

Marine mammals of European waters include numerous Cetacean families - porpoises, dolphins, beaked whales, sperm whales, balenopterid whales – and Pinniped families – seals.

All these species are protected in France, It implies that their conservation has to be incorporated into the management goals of any human activity at sea. To do it, we must be based on the best available scientific knowledges.

It the aim of the Ecology and Conservation of Marine Mammals environmental Observatory with the Centre de Recherche sur les Mammifères Marins and LIENSs Laboratory to gather to the University of La Rochelle
